We’ve been wanting to do a beach shoot for a while, but let’s be honest: not a whole lot of choices in the landlocked midwest. Narrowing it down to non-busy beaches…in the summer..? Impossible!

Well….not really. 

Flashback to July 4th, 2021. We headed out toward Milwaukee just for funsies, looking for an excuse to get out of town. 

I Googled “best firework display in Milwaukee” and landed on a 4th of July celebration taking place in Whitefish Bay, a northern suburb of MKE. 

Me: Ever heard of Whitefish Bay? It looks like they’ve got something going on at “Klode                Park”

Bill: Never heard of it, but sounds cool, let’s check it out

Long story short, we fell in love with Klode Park and the gorgeous beach. Small and secluded and most importantly: not overly crowded.

Now flashFORWARD to June 2022. 

Me: What are we doing next weekend? I kinda want to do a beach shoot with Hope…

Bill: …Livy, we’re spontaneous people, when do we ever have solidified plans a week in advance?? 

Me: true…let’s do Whitefish Bay?

7 days later, we head out once again to Whitefish Bay. It was a nice breezy day, not too hot. Having scoped out the area, we already knew exactly where we were going to shoot. We grabbed the equipment out of the car (well….Bill grabbed the equipment, while I stood by, giving moral support and words of encouragement LOL)

Well, suffice to say, the prep work and physical labor was worth it. Here are some of our favorite shots of the day.
